Kenya Birdwatching Great Hash Migration (Interhash) 2012 Safari
This safari departs from Nairobi on:
- 9th May 2012 – For those doing the hash cruise
- 13th May 2012 – For those not doing the hash cruise
Day 1 – Amboseli National Park
At 8am you will be picked by your guide to start your safari to Amboseli National Park to arrive in time for Lunch
Amboseli National Park is famous for its huge herds of elephant and the view of Mt. Kilimanjaro which is the biggest Mountain in Africa and best viewed from Amboseli. Wildlife and birds to be seen here includes, Maasai giraffe, hyenas, lions fringe eared oryx and over 400 species of birds.
At 4.00pm, game drive. Dinner and Overnight Amboseli Sopa Lodge
Day 2 – Amboseli National Park
6.30am – Early morning game drive.
9.00am – Breakfast.
10.30am – optional visit to a Maasai village or additional game drive.
1.00pm -Lunch.
4.00 pm -Game drive Overnight & Dinner Amboseli Sopa Lodge
Day 3 – Tsavo West
After breakfast, you will drive to Tsavo West with game drive en route to arrive at your lodge in time for lunch.
20,000 km2. It is divided into 2 parks namely east and west. It comprises the biggest lava flow in the world known as mashetani lava flow. Mashetani means devilish named so by the local community due to its changing formations all the time that puzzled the local residents.
It also
includes the scenic and awesome mzima springs which are an underground burst of very clean mineral water that is home to hippos and crocodiles and a variety of different species of fish. Animals to be seen here include, Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Kuddu, Zebra, Giraffe among many species of wildlife.
Dinner & Overnight Ngulia safari lodge or equivalent
Day 4 – Tsavo West – Mombasa
After breakfast, you will be driven to Mombasa where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
The cost of this safari will be:
- Without Park Fees – $640 per person sharing
- With Park Fees – $850 per person sharing
